Abstract

Purpose – During the pandemic period, the opinions of university students about the e-learning management system they use were tried to be determined.

Design/methodology/approach – The basic qualitative research model was used to determine student views on the e-learning management system. The main qualitative research model is the interpretation of an event or phenomenon from the point of view of those who express an opinion, and the process of analyzing and categorizing the event.

Findings – Although nearly all of the students participating in the study found the e-learning management system to be effective in receiving education during the epidemic period, they still want to receive face-toface education. In addition, the fact that students do not have a computer and an adequate level of internet connection to use the system may have a negative impact on their perspective on this learning management system. In addition to being the only technological tool-requirement for students to use an e-learning management system, having constant internet connections has also been another important point expressed in this study. With the help of the study, it was determined that it was never ergonomic for students to follow courses through the e-learning system for a long time.

Originality/value – University students received their undergraduate education through the e-learning management system during the epidemic. Determining the missing or good features of the system will increase the satisfaction of users.
